Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance are back together again – and what a reunion it is. The New York brand’s creative director Teddy Santis has a well known obsession with vintage sportswear; something that he gets to flex in his ongoing collab with the sneaker giant.
For SS20, he takes the 827, a niche NB silhouette, and colour blocks it in signature irreverent style. The resulting sneaker is a ‘90s performance runner reimagined in a riot of rainbow hues; clean white mesh uppers are overlaid with high contrast panels of buttercup and petrol, along with cornflower, grass green and scarlet accents. Dashes of 3M dance across them for a high vis finish that combines fashion and functionality.
