If you’re hooked, like everyone else is, on New Balance
releases, you’ll agree that this year it’s shown no sign of slowing down, and next up is LA brand Bricks & Woods to keep the momentum going with the latest link-up. When deciding between the 550 and the 57/40, founder Kacey Lynch chose the 57/40 route, collaborating on the classic runner model for the first time. They’re from “South Central with love” and maintain the flavour of Lynch's local neighbourhood, showcasing his brick by design ethos through colour-blocking. A South Central liquor store inspires the colourway, mimicking materials - from the textured “green wood” suede uppers, to the “red brick” sole and even the pastel yellow tone at the pumped up wavy midsole - the same shade at the Liquor store's sign. Silhouette wise - they maintain all the New Balance codes that we’ve come to love from the hybrid model, blending '90s tech inspired details with a distinctive ‘80s sole.
