In conjunction with Miami Art Week 2022, the Swoosh paid homage to Virgil Abloh in ‘The Codes c/o Architecture' exhibition, exploring the ways in which sneakers were pivotal for Virgil's studies in architecture and design. The event saw the vast collection of collaborative installments with
Nike over the last 4 years - shining a spotlight (literally) on the
Off-White imprint and legacy in a illuminated lightbox line up of sneakers. At the special-four day experience Virgil Abloh also left us with the latest posthumous release, taking us onto the next page in the Off-White and Nike book - with the Air Terra Forma. Continuing the same hybrid design we’ve seen from ‘the Ten’ collection of reconstructed Nike models, this continues to take elements from the catalogue, to mis-mash together, combining a b-ball silhouette with spikes from hiking shoes. It's packed full of Off-White elements - zip pull and elongated tongues with cut out "Off" and "White™" hands logo. Underfoot an aggressive sole unit is loaded with Nike Air Inner Space technology and rugged bottoms - ironic as always - are printed with “TREAD LIGHTLY.”
