Nike pays tribute to its long history of innovation with the N. 354 division, taking elements from unseen prototypes to create sample-like sneakers unlike anything from the mainline. The Air Zoom Type is no exception, with its inspiration coming largely from the initial prototype of the performance-focused, record-breaking Air Zoom Alphafly Next%. It’s most obvious through the sole, where a double-stacked Zoom Air unit sits exposed in the forefoot, but is also hinted through the sleek uppers. The main difference, however, is the intention. With their luxe white suede uppers and less extreme design lines, they’re built for all-day comfort rather than for fast-paced marathons.
